This used early style 5 speed is in good working order and doesn’t have any bearing noise to speak of. The tail shaft housing has a coarse matte finish and it does not have the reverse lockout like the later style transmission has.
All transmissions are guaranteed and they do require a refundable core charge.
This kit is for the transmission that comes with the reverse lockout. That can be identified by an oval plate about 1″ x 1.5″ on the left side of the tail shaft housing held on by a pair of 10mm headed bolts. That trans can be bolted into any z or zx from 70-83.
All mounting hardware is included with these units. They give you more adjustability vs. the stock mount on top.
